The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3.22–23

Collect
O Christ for whom we search,
our help when help has failed:
give us courage to expose our need
and ask to be made whole,
that, being touched by you,
we may be raised to new life
in the power of your name.
Amen.

Liturgy: via PowerPoint + APBA Colour – Green

Readings: 2 Samuel 1:1, 17-27; Psalm 130; 2 Corinthians 8:7-15; Mark 5:21-43

We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wanggeriburra people of the Yugambeh language region, the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of the land on which we gather, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people worshipping with us today.

A note from Helen
Today, we look toward our universal need for healing. We need social transformation and planetary healing. Healing is interconnected, and healed people can be agents of healing. David is grieving the death of Saul and his ‘most intimate’ friend Jonathan, and this lament in 2 Samuel helps to give voice to his pain and, through it, opens the door for personal, spiritual and emotional healing. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians is a call to generosity. His call for healing of greed, stinginess, and economic individualism is one which can be heard today as well. Scarcity thinking isolates and alienates, whereas feelings of abundance restore us to health. Our abundance is not private but is to be put at the disposal of those in need. We are called to ‘live simply’, ‘give generously’, so that others may simply live. And then we find our generosity connects us with God and all creation, and we will find our unity and our common need when we open ourselves to the needs of others.

Intercessions - prepared by Jan Armstrong
God of all creation, we praise you and worship you. We thank you for the abundance and variety of plant and animal life in our world. As part of your creation we thank you for each human life and pray that we may show your love to all. Help us to not judge others by their outward appearance, but to remember how precious each soul is to you.
Creator God, hear our prayer
and make us one in heart and mind to serve you with joy forever.

Almighty God, we pray for all those in authority. Guide those in leadership in your church. Especially we pray for guidance for Archbishop Jeremy, regional bishop John and Reverend Helen. May all those in leadership in our local parish, as part of the worldwide Anglican Community reflect your love and sacrifice.
All powerful God, hear our prayer
and make us one in heart and mind to serve you with joy forever.

God of  love, who sent your son to die for our sins, help us to care for those in need in our community. Help us to be your hands showing love and acceptance. Help us to show your presence in our lives by the love we show to those in need.
Loving God, hear our prayer
and make us one in heart and mind to serve you with joy forever.

Welcoming God, we thank you for your promise of salvation, that all who love and serve you may dwell in the House of the Lord forever. We thank you for the love and example of those who have left their earthly being behind and now abide with you. Especially we remember those whose year’s mind occurs at this time. Comfort those who mourn the painful loss of loved ones.
Faithful God, hear our prayer
and make us one in heart and mind to serve you with joy forever.

Creator Spirit, Advocate promised by our Lord Jesus Christ, increase our faith and help us to walk in the light of your presence, to the glory of God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

It intertwines Australia’s history, in particular the impacts of past policies and legislation with Sandra’s own life and the life of her community. It will be an opportunity to broaden our knowledge and awareness of Australia’s Untold History. All are welcome, bring your friends, your families, bring anyone you can think of, on July 20, 10am-1.30pm.

June Retiring Collection:  Discipleship of the Good Shepherd
DGS in Africa is currently focussed on two major works. The setting up of two centres, in Tanzania and western Kenya, to translate all of the DGS material into Swahili. Swahili is spoken by about 200 million people, so translation will open the children’s work up to many more children. The other big work is setting up toddler atriums in large churches in Nairobi, Kenya as a precursor to doing similar startups in the slum areas. The funding need is for second-hand laptops to initiate translation and to do online training. Blessings John
