We are a Christian faith community living in the way of Christ accepting and welcoming all in loving service, growing Christ’s future on Earth.
Sentence for the Day
Whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and my mother.
Mark 3:34-35
Collect of the Day
Almighty God,
give us such a vision of your purpose,
and such an assurance of your love and power,
that we may ever hold fast the hope
which is in Jesus Christ our Lord;
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen
Collect of Commitment
Disturb us, Lord,
when we are too well pleased with ourselves;
when our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little;
when we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of the things we possess,
we have lost our thirst for the water of life.
Stir us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas,
where storms will show your mastery;
where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars.
We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes
and to push us into the future in strength, courage, hope and love. Amen.
Liturgy: via PowerPoint + APBA Colour – Green
Readings: 1 Samuel 8.4-11,16-20; Psalm 128;2 Corinthians 4.13-5.1; Mark 3.20-35
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wanggeriburra people of the Yugambeh Nation, the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of the land on which we gather, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people worshipping with us today.
A note from Helen
“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens”. I hate camping (I have only done it once or twice and it is not my ‘cup of tea’.) so the idea of me having an ‘earthly tent’ is something I have trouble processing. But when I consider this ‘earthly tent’ which will be destroyed and replaced with a ‘building from God’ I see analogy about our ‘earthly existence’ which will be replaced by a ‘heavenly life’. But there is more to this ‘earthly tent’ than just our bodies, it refers to our entire place in an earthly life – our membership of community, history and culture, our hopes and fears will also be destroyed. And the whole of this passing life will be replaced by “a building from God”. And it will be more than just an individual existence; it will be a place in a new community, a new creation. Our earthly life is just temporary accommodation, like a tent, but after it is destroyed we will then settle down in a heavenly building which is more secure.

Intercessions – prepared by Peta
Beloved Lord Jesus, hear the prayers we bring before you.
We thank you for your gift of the world around us, its beauties and resources which sustain us. We pray for the sustainability of those resources and their fair and just distribution across nations and peoples so that all people can share in the bounty of your earth and live with dignity.
Hear our prayer, Lord Jesus.
Beloved Lord Jesus, we pray for your church. We give thanks for the work of all your servants, especially for Bishop Administrator Cameron, Bishop John, our new rector Helen, and for John and Allan.
We pray for Kristy and Peta as they prepare to attend and represent the parish on the future direction of the Diocese at SYNOD at the end of June. We pray that you will guide the work of SYNOD and the decisions to be made.
Hear our prayers, Lord Jesus.
Beloved Lord Jesus, we pray for all your people in every nation, for leaders and decisions which affect people. We bring before you those who have little, and those who have much, so that they may give generously of their means to help others. We bring before you those whom we help though our Emergency Relief Fund, our bread ministry and our retiring collections. We pray for those suffering and in need, particularly for … and for those known to us, aloud, or in the silence of our hearts…
Hear our prayers, Lord Jesus
Beloved Lord Jesus, we pray for those whose Year’s Mind occurs at this time, and for all who have gone before us, who lived their lives following you. We give thanks for the lives of Columba of Iona and Barnabas. Comfort those who mourn the painful loss of loved ones.
(Prayer for a new Archbishop – Helen)
Beloved Lord Jesus, hear our prayers, , and grant that what we have asked in faith, we may by your grace receive, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

DGS Africa is now extending into the Christian nurture of toddlers and babies and the unborn child, realising that the newly created human life comes from God and has a deep hunger to be close to Jesus. There is work happening in this early life nurture in churches in very poor areas. As well DGS now likes to start new plants with toddlers formation and is looking for support for initial set up in an Anglican Diocese in Cameroon, West Africa.
