We are a Christian faith community living in the way of Christ accepting and welcoming all in loving service, growing Christ’s future on Earth.
Sentence for the Day
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand.
Romans 5.1–2
Collect of the Day
All-powerful God,
in Jesus Christ you turned death into life,
and defeat into victory:
increase our faith and trust in him,
that we may triumph over evil,
in the strength of the same Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Collect of Commitment
Oh God, our loving Creator and Giver of all good gifts,
bless our parish, strengthen our faith
and grant us the spirit of Christian stewardship
so that we may give generously of our time, talent and treasure
to spread Your kingdom here in our church and throughout the world.
For this, we pray to the Lord. Amen.
Liturgy: via PowerPoint + APBA Colour – Green
Readings: Exodus 19.2-8a; Psalm 100; Romans 5.1-11; Matthew 9.35-10.8
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wanggeriburra people of the Yugambeh Nation, the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of the land on which we gather, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people worshipping with us today.
A note from Helen
Paul’s letter to the people of Rome speaks of peace. But it does not look at peace the way we do. We usually speak of ‘world peace’ or ‘peace in our times’ or even ‘peace in our lives’ but Paul’s peace is a different species. For Paul, the peace of the gospel is not the type that takes away difficulty or conflict. He tells us the peace we have through Jesus comes to us alongside strife or difficulty. In fact, Paul tells us to ‘boast in our afflictions’. This peace is not a feeling, it is a relational reality. Because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ, we are no longer ‘at odds’ with God. Even though we suffer now, the result of our suffering will be glory, not shame. And the reason this suffering leads to glory and honour is ‘because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us’. Paul speaks of God’s love for us, not our love for God; and God’s love for us is immeasurable and lifts us beyond our limited capabilities to become ‘partakers of the divine nature’ by an infusion of God’s love.
NOTICES
Wally Wombat Club
Wally needs some help on Wednesdays from 9.15 to about 11am. The diocesan requirements are that there needs to be two adults present both with Blue Cards. It is super easy to obtain a Blue Card and it is free for volunteers. The time spent with Wally and the little ones is very enjoyable. Maybe you could roster for a couple of times a month. Wally is out and about inviting little children and it is really a wonderful life changing blessing if little ones have Good Shepherd time. Wal will be at church with a sign up sheet on Sundays.

Intercessions – prepared by Keith S
Gracious God, as we seek to live in the way of Christ, empower us to be living examples of your love with all whom we meet.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Giving God, we give you thanks for your Church throughout the world; for Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury; for Cameron, our Bishop Administrator; John our Bishop and Helen our priest, and for all who bear witness to the Good News of Jesus.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Creator God, we give you thanks for your creation and for the provision of our needs. We pray for our careful and equitable sharing of this creation; for the living of just lives; for the recognition of the integrity of each other; and for our living together in peace and harmony.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Loving God, we offer our thanks for the communities in which we live and share your love.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Gracious God, today, mindful of your boundless love we make our financial offering to you and your ministry in this Parish and community:
(There will be an extended pause. We are invited to come forward and place our Commitment Card in the offering basket before the altar.)
Gracious God, in this commitment we make the offering of ourselves to you.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Compassionate God, we hold before you today all those who are in need, those whom we know and whom we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Eternal God, we give thanks for all who have gone before us and who have washed the feet of others offering themselves to you in your love.
(Prayer for a new Archbishop – Helen)
Loving generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you this day, through Jesus Christ our Lord, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

DGS Africa is now extending into the Christian nurture of toddlers and babies and the unborn child, realising that the newly created human life comes from God and has a deep hunger to be close to Jesus. There is work happening in this early life nurture in churches in very poor areas. As well DGS now likes to start new plants with toddlers formation and is looking for support for initial set up in an Anglican Diocese in Cameroon, West Africa.
