Revelation 5.13
Collect
Almighty God,
through your only Son you overcame death
and opened to us the gate of everlasting life:
grant that we who celebrate our Lord’s resurrection,
may, through the renewing power of your Spirit,
rise from the death of sin to the life of righteousness;
through the same Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Today we celebrate the baptism of

A note from Tom:
It has been a whirlwind few days as we’ve settled into life in the parish!
It was a real joy to begin my ministry here with the commissioning service and I would like to thank all of you who attended that event and welcomed me into our shared church life. It was an even bigger joy to lead Sunday services at St Luke’s and St George’s last Sunday, we have two lovely church buildings here but more importantly we have two congregations who are meeting and worshipping God faithfully and I’m excited to see what God may want to do in these places.
I am starting to settle into a normal routine and here is how you can contact me throughout the week:
Monday to Thursday I am working 9.30am – 2.30pm at the St George’s church office and that’s the best time to contact me. You can call the office number (5545 2919) or email me at tom.hunton@anglicanchurchsq.org.au or pop in and say Hi!
Monday to Thursday I will also be working in the evenings, although this will mostly be out of the office.
Friday will be a regular day off whilst Saturday and Sunday will mainly be devoted to regular, and occasional, services.
Getting an Australian mobile phone has been a long, drawn-out affair (!), I am almost there and as soon as I have one I will publish the number here as that will often be the best way to get hold of me.
Tom

Labyrinth Message
This week's labyrinth message for you to "walk with" is : How do you feel when you meet again for the first time someone whom you have "let down" .. or perhaps even in a sense "betrayed"?
In this week's Gospel, Peter meets the risen Christ … Peter, who denied Jesus 3 times, is invited to reaffirm his love for Jesus 3 times and thereafter is "fully reinstated". I wonder how we react when we meet again those who we have let down [ or may have let us down ]? Perhaps this week we will be given a Divine opportunity to likewise be restored with / restore another .. If we seize this opportunity, I wonder what may be released?
Prayers of the people Prepared by Jan
Creator God, we praise you for a world that is wonderfully made. We thank you for life giving rain that waters our land, for warming sun and fertile soil. Help us to care for all of your creation, for the plants, animals and people as we live our daily lives.
Loving Heavenly Father, may your name be praised in all the Earth.
Holy God, as Christians around Australia and the world gather today to sing your praises and be renewed in their faith may we support and care for one another. We pray for the worldwide Anglican Communion especially in areas of conflict and war. May those who are living through dark times feel your comforting presence. We pray for Archbishop Philip, Regional Bishop John and for Reverend Tom and his family.
Loving Heavenly Father, may your name be praised in all the Earth.
Caring God, as we live our daily lives, by our actions, may we so witness to your presence in our lives, that we may shine brightly for you. We pray that for those who we live and work with each day, we may be like the bright light that stopped Saul in his tracks, as we reflect your love for all people. Help us to care for the physical and spiritual needs of our community. Bless all those who work as members of our local community both paid and voluntarily.
Loving Heavenly Father, may your name be praised in all the Earth.
Loving God, we pray for all who are sick whether with COVID or other illnesses, that your healing hand may be upon them. We thank you for the relaxing of many COVID restrictions, allowing us to meet together more freely.
Loving Heavenly Father, may your name be praised in all the Earth.
Loving God, we thank you for all those who lived their lives reflecting your love and who are now dwelling with you for eternity. We especially remember those whose Year’s Mind occurs at this time.
Loving Heavenly Father, may your name be praised in all the Earth.
Almighty God, you have promised to hear our prayers, Grant that what we have asked in faith we may by your grace receive, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Anzac Day at St Luke’s
A BIG thank you to all who helped with time, biscuits, and enthusiasm on Anzac Day in Canungra. It was a great way to be part of the community, yet again.
