one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Intercessions - from ‘Traces of Glory’ David Adam.
Father, we give you thanks for all that you have done for us, for life and the love that you bestow upon us. Lord make us mindful of your gifts, that we may be content and grateful, giving our love and lives to you all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, one God for ever. Amen
Heavenly Father, you have shown us the way of life, help us to walk in your ways and to do your will. We pray for all who are dedicating their lives to you; for the newly baptized, for all who are seeking and enquiring about their faith. Guide all prayer groups and Bible studies.
Lord, may we sing your praises
And make music in our hearts to you.
Direct all who beautify our world by their talents, all who improve our world by their actions. We pray for artists, architects and planners, for gardeners and horticulturalists. Bless all actors, singers and dancers, all entertainers.
Lord, may we sing your praises
And make music in our hearts to you.
We give you thanks for the gifts you have given to us. We pray for a sharing of talents in our communities, for your blessing on all councillors and group leaders. Bless our home and loved ones with your joy and peace.
Lord, may we sing your praises
And make music in our hearts to you.
Lord, bring light to all who live in darkness and hatred. We pray for all caught up in bitterness or evil thoughts, all who are tempted to do criminal acts or lead others astray. We pray for all who are in sickness or in trouble, for all who mourn and all who are sad.
Lord, may we sing your praises
And make music in our hearts to you.
We rejoice with all who praise you in the glory of your kingdom, we sing your praises with angels and archangels and all the company of heaven. We pray for loved ones departed, remembering especially John Tomlinson.
Lord, may we sing your praises
And make music in our hearts to you.
Almighty God, you have promised to hear our prayers.Grant that what we have asked in faith we may by your grace receive, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A note from Helen
Wisdom is one of those attributes we all desire, but we often struggle to see it in ourselves and in others. Our readings today focus on the interplay between divine and human wisdom. God is still speaking and providing insights for both our immediate and future activities. Human wisdom needs to be grounded in our attentiveness to divine creativity seen in the heavens above, the earth upon which we live, and the divine movements of our body, mind, and spirit. We will find true joy as well as a healthy community when we are able to align ourselves with divine wisdom rather than our individual self-interests. When we can find a wider vision for the minute and grand aspects of our lives, and our political and economic involvement; we will find peace in our hearts and our communities. Solomon’s prayer is not about self-interest, or power. Revealing his inexperience, he asks for something much more important – an understanding mind and ‘thinking heart’. Wisdom and understanding provide us with a spiritual GPS that joins the ideal and actual; the possible and the concrete; the big picture and the day-to-day.
