Sentence for the Day
Salt is good; but if salt has lost its saltiness, how can it be seasoned? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.
Mark 9:50
Collect
God, our Creator, help us to love all creatures as kin,
all animals as partners on Earth,
all birds as messengers of praise,
all minute beings as expressions of your mysterious design
and all frogs as voices of hope.
Amen
Season of Creation Collect
Jesus, who raised the dead to life
Help us to find ways to renew
what we have broken, damaged and destroyed in our common home.
Give hope to those working for a greener future.
For you live and reign in the unity of the blessed Trinity one God now and forever
Amen

A note from Helen
As we come to the end of the ‘Season of Creation’ for 2024, let us not come to the end of our caring for creation. Just as Francis cared for all the animals around him, just as he also cared for the plants and all of creation, so also may we care for all that is around us. May we be aware of the issue of climate change and do all we can to reduce our impact on our environment, may we continue to advocate in the social justice realm and advocate for the environment. Let us remember that our care for our planet and our care for each other are both fundamentally intertwined. May we try to ‘attend’ to ourselves in time and space, paying attention to what is in front of us, around us and part of us. May we ‘inhabit’ the specific, immediate place where we live, where we commit to all those who share it with us, both human and non-human. May we ‘value’ the inherent dignity and value of all God’s creation and not only what we think is useful to us. May we ‘gaze’ so that we now see ‘differently’, we see what needs to ‘change’, and what God is challenging us to proclaim.
A message from Anglicare.
At Christmas we celebrate Jesus, hope of the world, born in a lowly manger. Christmas is a time for giving, a time for reflection and a time for hope. By donating a gift this year, you can help make Christmas bright for one of Anglicare’s clients. You can let them know they are not alone. Look at the list on the notice board and select what you would like to donate and where you can drop it off or bring it to the office and we will ensure it is ‘dropped off’. Please note, all gifts must be:
· Labelled, ‘Anglicare Southern Queensland.’
· Brand new, unopened and unused.
· Unwrapped, or wrapped in clear cellophane so contents are visible.
NOTICES:
Springtime on the Mountain: Thank-You!
A very big thank you everyone who contributed to making our part in Springtime on Mountain an enormous success. This includes those of you who contributed flowers, foliage, baked goods, personal possessions, time and talent. It was a wonderful community effort. Thanks above all to Marj who begged, borrowed and “stole” flora from every conceivable and inconceivable location.

Recycling News!
We have recently discovered one of the shops on Gallery Walk will take our blister packs and bottle lids. Praise God. They will not, however do it for free, so it will cost us ‘something’ to take them there…
BUT many of the lids you have brought in can actually go in the ‘yellow top bins’, so if your lids have a recycle symbol (with number in it), then the lid can go in your yellow top bin.
Please also ensure the lids have been washed.
