We Welcome Peace Munsie Armstrong for Baptism
Sentence for the Day
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king, and exalt the power of his anointed. 1 Samuel 2:10
Collect
O God,
welcoming refuge
for the outcast,
and upholder of justice
for the oppressed:
maintain the hope of the poor,
so that the time may soon come
when no one need want for food and shelter, and all will learn to share freely following the example of your Son, who gave his very self; who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Ministry Collect
O Lord,
you have taught us
that you will require much from those to whom much is given:
Grant that we whom you have called to so goodly a heritage may share more abundantly with others what we so richly enjoy,
and in serving them
may know the glory
of serving you.
Amen.

Intercessions: prepared by Keith Slater
Loving God we give you thanks for your coming among us in Christ Jesus, as our Lord and Saviour.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Embracing God, we give you thanks for your Church throughout the world; for Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury; for Jeremy our Archbishop; John our Bishop and Helen our priest.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Creator God, we give you thanks for the amazing wonder of this Earth - for all of your creation. We pray for the care of others in the decisions of nations and leaders, and in the intricate web of communities of the world. We pray for the living of just lives and the living together in peace and harmony.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Compassionate God, we pray for those who are in need, for those whom we know and whom we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts………….. We give thanks for all who offer hope and healing.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Eternal God, we give thanks for all who have gone before us and who have been living witnesses offering themselves to you in sharing your love.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Caring God, we give you thanks for this parish faith community in which we live; and for the love that is shared by word and action.
Generous God: we offer ourselves afresh to you.
Generous God, we give you thanks for the many gifts and talents of the people of this Parish. You call us to value our gifts and to offer them in sharing the Gospel. Today we offer of our gifts for your ministry in this Parish and community:
(There will be an extended pause. We are invited to prayerfully bring forward our completed Ministry Sunday forms and place them in the basket at the Altar rail as part of the Offertory.)
Generous God, we make this offering of ourselves this day, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Year’s Mind Anniversaries this month:
Elizabeth Marshall, Joe Armstrong, Harold Ellis, Jean Cooke
A note from Helen
The readings for today describe for us answers to prayer as well as future hope and challenge. But these are so distant from our lived experiences they are challenging for us. We have strange encounters with priests, vying among wives, sacrificial high priests, and cataclysmic events. However, when we look more deeply, we find underlying messages. No matter what difficulties and threats confront us in life, God makes a way where there is no way. Spiritual barrenness, infertility, sin, and destruction cannot separate us from God’s love. And while God is not the source of these challenges, God’s persistent providence brings healing and restoration in times of despair.
A Ministry Sunday Question to Ponder:
How do we/I share ‘loving service’ in the wider community
NOTICES:
Parish Council Meeting
Parish Council will be meeting at 11:15@ St George’s Today, Sunday Nov 17.
2025 Anglican Calendars and Lectionaries have arrived:

Advent Study Book
ABM has just released ‘Caravan’, a book of incarnational stories based on the birth of Christ but set in an Australian landscape. It is written in a way that allows it to be used as an Advent to Epiphany (or anytime) study for groups or individuals. It will also make a wonderful Christmas gift to yourself or others. Sonya will be placing an order for this book on Monday 18th. If you would like her to order a copy for you please place you name on the list at the church entry table today, or email the parish office before 8.00am Monday.
Christmas Market
Hey, hey, it’s only 2 weeks away!!!
· Are you downsizing? Have you got pre-loved goods and clothes that you’re wanting to dispose? Here’s a great opportunity!
· Your home baked cakes and goodies, and jams will sell well too! Let's swamp the stall with them!
· Gardening is high on the agenda here on the mountain! Your potted plants will greatly enhance the plant stall!
As a band of fellow faith travellers let's consider how we can engage - before, during and after - in this very special community activity - our Christmas Market!
Jars for Jams and Preserves
Gisela is in need of jars that are just the right size for jams and preserves. Please bring any jars that you may have to the church. Thank you!

A message from Anglicare.
At Christmas we celebrate Jesus, hope of the world, born in a lowly manger. Christmas is a time for giving, a time for reflection and a time for hope. Look at the list on the notice board and select what you would like to donate to an Anglicare client bring it to the office and we will ensure it is ‘dropped off’. Please note, all gifts must be labelled, ‘Anglicare Southern Queensland’, brand new, unopened and unused and unwrapped, or wrapped in clear cellophane so contents are visible.
