Everlasting God,

whose will is to restore all things

in your well-beloved Son,

our Lord and King:

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

Intercessions:  prepared by Anne King

Eternal Father through our Saviour Jesus, who is both Christ the King and the Son of Man and who understands our needs and the needs of this world, we pray for your church here in Canungra and Tamborine Mountain, of which your Son is King. We pray that you will draw us together and unite us in the love of Christ that we may proclaim with one voice your justice and righteousness in a broken world.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Everlasting God we pray for all of your Churches which represents your Kingdom here on earth.  We pray for our brothers and sisters in the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Churches and give thanks for the good relationships that we enjoy with them as we use their premise to preach the Good News.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Loving God help us reach out to one another with greater love and better understanding; we pray for our homes, our relatives, our neighbours and our friends, particularly those who do not yet realise the extent of your love for them.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Father God, your Son, Jesus Christ, understood people’s fear and pain before they spoke of them, we pray for those who are sick, housebound or in hospital; surround the frightened with your tenderness; give strength to those in pain; hold the weak in your arms of love, and give hope and patience to those who are recovering.  We especially prayer for…….

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Merciful God, you know our hearts and share our sorrows. When parting from those whom we loved hurts; when the loss we have sustained turns to anger; when we find words of comfort hard to hear, surround us with your love turn our grief to hope. We pray now for the recently departed and those whose anniversary falls at this time.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Holy God you have rescued us from the power of darkness. Help us to walk in this world as citizens of your Kingdom of Light where Christ reigns as King in glory for ever and ever.

Merciful Father: accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.   Amen

A note from Helen

David’s final speech (our first reading) and the words of our Psalm connect justice with national well-being.  God’s covenant is certain, but the shape of the covenant and God’s ability to reach out to us, God’s people, depends on our willingness to follow God’s moral pathways.  God’s presence in our lives is relational and contextual, not unilateral or timeless.  What we do will shape what God is able to do in our lives.  Violence and injustice threaten our ability to live out the full dimensions of God’s vision for our lives and our nation.

Revelation proclaims the reality present in Christ to be the alpha and omega, the energy of creation and completion. It shows us that, implied in our forgetfulness of God’s presence in our lives and our failure as persons and institutions to live up to God’s vision in Christ, there is the threat that when God is revealed, our only response will be ‘wailing’ in fear and regret.  Which may well prompt us to ask: what might this response mean and should we accept this image as Christ-like.  Will we simply mourn our wasted lives; or accept the Galilean vision that even those who miss the mark will receive opportunities to amend their values and turn from injustice to planetary healing.

NOTICES:

THANK YOU for being willing to ‘step out in faith’, thank you for being willing to try new things, thank you for your willingness to ‘do it again’, thank you; because this all means that together we can see and work toward this parish’s continued presence in our community, and that is important.  Thank You.

Christmas Market

Christmas Market Hey, hey, it’s next Saturday!!

• Are you downsizing? Have you got pre-loved goods and clothes that you’re wanting to dispose? Here’s a great opportunity!

• Your home baked cakes and goodies, and jams will sell well too! Let's swamp the stall with them!

• Gardening is high on the agenda here on the mountain! Your potted plants will greatly enhance the plant stall!

. Calling for the loan of small tables/card tables. Please let Keith know if you have.

. Jars for Jams and Preserves - Gisela is in need of jars that are just the right size for jams and preserves.

As a small band of faith travellers let's consider how we can engage - before, during and after - in this very special community activity - our Christmas Market!

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Between 24 November and 10 December, our church is joining in a global campaign to raise awareness and challenge unhealthy attitudes that relate to gender-based violence.

Professionals Tamborine MountainA sincere thank you to Professionals Tamborine Mountain for a generous and welcome contribution to our Emergency Relief fund. The timing is just right!
