We are a Christian faith community living in the way of Christ accepting and welcoming all in loving service, growing Christ’s future on Earth.
Sentence for the Day
Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.
Psalm 126:6
Collect
Christ,
whose feet were
caressed with perfume
and a woman’s hair,
you humbly took a basin
and towel and washed
the feet of your friends:
wash us also
in your tenderness, that, embracing your service freely,
we may accept no other bondage
in your name.
Amen.
Hope 25 prayer
God of Hope
you call on us to be your witnesses in this uncertain world:
by your Sprit awaken in us
a true vision of your kingdom
a greater certainty of our salvation, and a deeper dedication
to your service:
that through our words and actions the same Spirit may
bring many who are lost to be found and for them to celebrate the hope that we can only have
in Jesus Christ,
in whose name we pray.
Amen.

Pew Reflection
Today’s readings invite us to see God’s future while honouring the past. God is constantly doing a new thing and God’s new thing builds on God’s faithfulness. We are invited to move beyond our self-imposed limitations and entertain and embrace new possibilities for faithful service. We can keep our eyes on the ‘prize’, always moving forward, guided by Christ’s vision. Even though it may feel like chaos, faith pushes us forward beyond our institutional structures, and then innovative faith is balanced by honouring tradition and discovering the order that enlivens and inspires.

Heavenly Father, we praise you and give you thanks for the marvellous works of your hands, the Earth, and the creatures and plants who live alongside us. Help us to be good stewards of your gifts to us.
We pray for those caught up in conflicts and war, and for victims of violence everywhere. Touch the hearts of those who are driven by power, brutality and greed, who are blind to the suffering of others.
Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love.
Heavenly Father, your faithful servants rejoice that you came to live amongst us and to establish your church. Bless the worldwide Anglican Communion especially at this time of change, and those in our diocese who do your work. Bless Archbishop Jeremy, Bishop John and Reverend Helen and all in our parish who contribute their time and talents to grow your church. Guide us in growing our faith and in inviting others to share in your grace.
Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love.
Heavenly Father, you lived in a family and a community. Bless our families and communities. We pray for those in need, for those who are rudderless who need your love and to feel you guiding them. We pray for those who are ill or in pain. We pray for those who are dying. We pray especially for….and for any others known to us, whom we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts.
Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love.
Heavenly Father, you lived and died amongst us. You know the struggles of living and of dying. Comfort those who are dying, and those who mourn. We remember with joy those who lived their lives for you, and especially those whose year’s mind occurs at this time. We wait with sadness and joy for your passion and death and rising to new life.
Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love.
