Sentence for the Day

The Lord is risen indeed, alleluia!

1 Corinthians 5:7–8

Collect

God of glory,

fill your Church with the

power that flows from

Christ’s resurrection,

that, in the midst of

 this sinful world,

 it may signal the beginning

of a renewed humanity,

raised to new life with Christ;

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Hope 25 prayer

God of Hope

you call on us to be your

witnesses in this uncertain world:

by your Sprit awaken in us a true vision of your kingdom a greater certainty of our salvation, and a deeper dedication to your service:

that through our words and actions the same Spirit may bring many who are lost to be found and for them to celebrate the hope that we can

only have in Jesus Christ,

in whose name we pray.

Amen.

Pew Reflection

Easter is at the heart of our faith but, at the same time, it is incomprehensible, a miracle, beyond belief or any sort of ‘proof’.   The women were the first to ‘see’ the resurrection, they were the first to hear the good news, and they were the first messengers sent to ‘go out and share’ this good news.  The tomb is empty, life begins again.  The stone of anxiety and fear, perhaps even hopelessness, is rolled away and the future is full of promise once again.  When Jesus called Mary by name, her life was transformed.  When God calls us by name, we too are transformed and born again.  But, do we hear when we are called, are we oblivious to the call, has the world drowned out God’s voice out, have we eliminated God’s mystical presence from our view?  Let us be open to resurrection power, may it flow through us to all creation.  Trust that God will revive us, and that we are all called to be agents of resurrection, bringing forth life in all situations.  Practice resurrection – speak for life and may God’s life flow through you to all the world.
