Sentence for the Day
The Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Revelation 7:17
Collect
Gracious God,
you sent Jesus,
the good shepherd,
to gather us together:
may we not wander from his flock, but follow wherever he leads us, listening for his voice and staying near him,
until we are safely in your fold,
to live with you for ever;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Hope 25 prayer
God of Hope
you call on us to be your
witnesses in this uncertain world:
by your Spirit awaken in us a true vision of your kingdom a greater certainty of our salvation, and a deeper dedication to your service:
that through our words and actions the same Spirit may bring many who are lost to be found and for them to celebrate the hope that we can
only have in Jesus Christ,
in whose name we pray.
Amen.

Eternal God you love and care for us and give us all that we need. As we struggle with world events which concern us , we hang onto the love and peace you give us in the silence of our hearts, which the world cannot give and we give thanks we can find you in all creation you gave us to enjoy and care for.
We praise you O God, we acknowledge You to be the Lord
Loving God we pray your church worldwide, for Bishops Priests and Deacons and all servants of the church. We give thanks for the ministry of Pope Francis. May he rest in peace, and we pray for Pope Leo XIV as he commences his Pontificate. Give parish councillors the wisdom they need. Give endurance and inspiration to teachers in schools and those who teach children about Jesus and all that He means to us.
We praise you O God, we acknowledge You to be the Lord.
Creator God we pray that we may show our love for you in our thoughts and actions to people of this community on the mountain and in Canungra and we thank you for their artistic creations in every shape or form, bringing people together. We thank you for Police, Firies, Ambos and SES members who serve to keep us safe.
We praise you O God, we acknowledge You to be the Lord.
Merciful God we pray for all who suffer, especially in wars where peace seems elusive. We pray for refugees, hostages and all those who have lost loved ones. Give them courage and sustain them Lord. In our part of the world we bring to you those who are sick and troubled who we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts. Bless them and give them courage and peace, and to medical staff, endurance and love to those they care for.
We praise you O God, we acknowledge You to be the Lord.
Eternal God we thank you for the people who have shown us and taught us the teaching of Your Son Jesus and who have gone to be with You into everlasting life. We name those whose year’s minds occur at this time……Mary Newton, Kathleen Weildon, Jacqui Davis and give thanks for Mothers who loved us and cared for us.
We praise You O God, we acknowledge You to be the Lord.
Grant that what we have asked in faith we may by your grace receive, though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Pew Reflection
Miracles, mortality, and the scope of salvation are the themes of today’s readings, and they leave us with both questions and possibilities which require us to use our imaginations while challenging our literal understandings of the texts. How do we ‘rationalise’ the raising of Dorcas? Can faith raise the dead as well as move mountains? How do we confront the inevitable and necessary losses and challenges of life? What is it that gives us the fortitude to go through the valley of the shadow of death, knowing there is no way around it, but also knowing that God has the final word and that the good shepherd will lead our path home. Am I one of the sheep that belongs to the Father? Is the scope of salvation really limited as suggested by the Gospel yet also potentially infinite as asserted by Revelation? If grace abounds, can grace overcome our unbelief?
