Sentence for the Day
The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; ask therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
Collect
God of the covenant,
in our baptism you called us
to proclaim the coming of your kingdom: give us courage,
as you gave it to the apostles,
that we may faithfully witness to your love and peace in every circumstance of life; in the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Commitment Collect
Generous God,
whose hand is open to fill all things living with plenteousness:
make us ever thankful
for your goodness,
and grant that we,
remembering the account that we must one day give,
may be faithful stewards
of your bounty;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pew Reflection
Today’s readings confront us with the need for divine healing; physically, emotionally, spiritually, theologically and nationally. Healing brings wholeness and it will connect us with God’s energy of love, transforming our relationships and sense of connection with the wellsprings of divine providence, and leading to transformed behaviours personally and politically. Elisha’s healing of Naaman is a classic ‘it is staring you in the face’ scenario. How often do we ‘dismiss’ what is right in front of us simply because it seems ‘too easy’. The healing we need, the community needs, the world needs, may be right in front of us. We just need to be open to what is all around us. We need to be open to the resources God is already providing for us.
Thought provoker:
How do we/ I serve in love and hope in this community?

Intercessions: Prepared by Barbara Fulcher
Creator God, we thank you for the beauty of the earth which you created for us to share with all nations and all creatures who live with us. We want to look after it and often fail. We pray for all who work the land and study it to give us nourishment and health. May we embrace the changing seasons, know the importance of them especially the changing seasons of our lives. When we grieve, lift us up, guide us through.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Loving Father, we pray for the leaders of the nations and those who support and advise when making difficult decisions. Give them integrity, and courage to persevere in their roles. We pray and give thanks for our church leaders, Arch. Jeremy, Bp John and Rev’d Helen. Hold them in your loving care and let them know your Presence.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Loving Father, in our beautiful mountain and surrounding areas, there are many people who do not know you or feel your closeness. We have learnt so much of Jesus and His teaching and yet we miss opportunities to pass his loving kindness on. We want to be good disciples with sensitivity to people we meet. Give us the right words.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Loving God, we pray for the younger generation and children’s ministries. Bless all who teach or work with them, Fr John and his helpers and Chappies in schools. We give thanks for their willingness to serve in this way. We give thanks for Jan in Canungra and her supporters and her consistent teaching the children who attend St. Luke’s. May all children have a safe holiday.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Faithful God, we bring to you all who are sick or are in hospital. We pray for all medical staff and paramedics. We pray for those who have asked for our prayers………………We hold them in our hearts. We thank you for many people, young and old, who are disabled and give thanks for their example to get on with their lives and achieve, however difficult. We also remember the lonely and bereaved and pray for them.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, thank you for those in past lives who have shown us the way to love and follow you in loving care and service to all.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Almighty God, you have promised to hear our prayers.
Grant that what we have asked in faith
we may by your grace receive, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
