Collect

O God, the Judge of all,

through the saving blood of your Son

you have brought us to the heavenly Jerusalem

and given us a kingdom which cannot be shaken:

through Jesus Christ our Lord,

who lives to intercede for us,

now and for ever.

Amen

Intercessions:  prepared by Barbara Fulcher

Creator God, we thank you for all trees, plants, shrubs and flowers in season. For the beauty of this place in which we live with the people, animals and wildlife we love and try to protect. Guide us and may we listen to your Word. In this changing world we pray for the Government as they make difficult decisions.

For your love and guidance we praise you, O God.

Gracious God we bring to you our church leaders. Archbishop Jeremy, Bishop John, Rev’d Helen. We give thanks for their commitment, spiritual guidance and example and pray for all those in Formation. We pray for Rev’d John Corner as he works with priests, people and children in South Africa as they learn about You God, your son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

For your holy presence with us we thank you.

Loving God, we pray for all people suffering from natural disasters, floods, fires, rock falls and climate change events affecting people and animals. Send courage to all people helping the affected. Police, SES, Ambulance and medical staff. We give thanks for volunteers and pray for their safety. We pray for peace where there is war and relief and blessing for all suffering from the effects and aftermath of bombing, destruction of homes and livelihoods and loss of loved ones.

For your infinite mercy and guidance, we give you thanks.

Loving God, we pray for the community in which we live  and for all people, rich or poor, in families or alone, and any we know who are sick, facing an operation or being cared for in a special Home. We pray for all who have asked for our prayers whom we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts………………..Bless them all.

Lord God of our lives, hear our prayer.

Eternal God, we give thanks for all who have gone before us in the faith. May we be strengthened by their example. We remember especially whose year’s mind occurs at this time……………………………and pray for them in eternity.

Almighty God you have promised to hear our prayers. Grant that what we have asked in faith we may by your grace receive. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Pew Reflection

God’s word to Jeremiah is addressed to all of us.  Jeremiah is unsure of his ability to do what is ahead of him, but God presses forward.  We think small, God thinks large.  We downplay our abilities, God invites us to spread our wings.  What dreams are being stifled by your fears?  Where is your sense of limitation standing in the way of new possibilities?  God seeks the well-being and fulfilment of all of us as a way to heal the world.  God is willing to give us more than we can ask or imagine.  All we need to do is open our hands to receive the fulness of divine blessing.

Ask Around: Describe a moment of awe and wonder that you've experienced.

Little Lukies is a church-based program, run every Monday in term time, that introduces primary school aged children to God and the church. Children are given afternoon tea when they arrive from school, followed by a game, a ‘lesson’ in the church and an activity related to the story that is taught each week.  SLAngers is for high school children who meet fortnightly and are met with afternoon tea and then engage in ‘community focused’ activities and bible-based discussions
